IVE MUSIC
Colgate Country Showdown Bandleader, Charlie McCoy Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame!
Charlie McCoy is a legendary performer having played harmonica on innumerable sessions and recorded over 30 albums.
While doing session work and touring, Charlie was also the music director for "Hee Haw," the fifth-longest-running off-network American TV program in history beginning in 1969 and running through 1997. For the past two decades, Charlie has also been the Colgate County Showdown's music director. Every year the Showdown's National Final proves to be a phenomenal live event and much of its success can be attributed to the sensational music provided by Charlie and his all star group of musicians.
On February 4th, 2009, Charlie was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. This is a wonderful honor and all of us here at the Colgate Country Showdown want to congratulate him for having received this prestigious award that is so well deserved.
To read more about Charlie, visit his webpage by clickng here. Also, to read the full story of Charlie's induction into the Hall of Fame, head out to countryshowdown.com and read the full story reprinted from the Nashville City Paper.
Congratulations Charlie!
